Heisler entwirft als Ingenieur der Brooks Locomotive Works eine kurvenbewegliche Lokomotive mit querliegender Dampfmaschine und bis zum Tender durchlaufender Welle, von der die Drehgestelle durch WinkelrÀder angetrieben werden. Die ersten derartigen Lokomotiven werden durch die "Dunkirk Engineering Co.", spÀter zunÀchst von der Stearns Manufacturing Co. in Erie gebaut. |
